The end of an era. #bigred is being retired. We purchased used in 2004. She saw many family vacations but I am sure the most memorable was off-roading in the Badlands in 2009. Designated as Blake’s first car in 2016, she just wouldn’t quit. With over 330,000 miles, 4 fender benders, and 4 collisions with deer, we have finally met the end of the road. #thankful #builtfordtough #fordexpedition

We were officially introduced to rare disease on the eve before Thanksgiving in 2005. A lump formed in my throat the moment I realized the voice on the phone belonged to Elena’s neurologist. He shared that Elena’s muscle biopsy came back positive. Elena had mitochondrial disease.
